Grant Competitions

In January 2023, the ISRF launched its seventh Early Career Fellowship competition. Having received a number of strong proposals, the Selection Panel met in July 2023, and voted to make five awards.

January 2023 also saw the launch of the ISRF's tenth Independent Scholar Fellowship competition. Having received a number of strong proposals, the Selection Panel met in September 2023, and voted to make four awards.

In October 2023, the ISRF launched its tenth Flexible Grants for Small Groups competition. The deadline for applications was 5pm GMT on 30th November 2023. Award decisions are expected by the end of April 2024.

Events & Workshops

The 3rd ISRF Congress took place on 27th January 2023, at the Chimney House, Sheffield, UK.

The 2023 ISRF Conference – Climate Crisis, Global Capitalism and Higher Education – took place on 2-4 November 2023, in Bologna, Italy.

The ISRF Book Launch series continued in 2023, with events celebrating the launches of Reading Religion and Spirituality in Jamaican Reggae Dancehall Dance ('H' Patten), The Domestication of Competition: Social Evolution and Liberal Society (Jonathan Hearn), Animal Architecture: Beasts, Buildings and Us (Paul Dobraszczyk), Smart-Tech Society: Convenience, Control, and Resistance (Mark Whitehead), Rethinking Political Thinkers (Manjeet Ramgotra & Simon Choat), Abolition Science Fiction (Phil Crockett Thomas), and What Is Antiracism? And Why It Means Anticapitalism (Arun Kundnani), 

ISRF Bulletin

The termly print bulletin continues to be accompanied by a regularly updated blog, which features scholarly contributions from ISRF Fellows, Advisors and Associates.
